Advanced Rider Training School - Riding Gear

Paddock-IMG 4649

Proper gear is essential.  Every rider going onto the track will undergo a safety gear evaluation.

Prior to ARTS - You are responsible for reviewing your gear to ensure it conforms to the following guidelines. Wearing proper protective gear will help ensure your personal safety.  All riding equipment must be in very good condition - please read the following carefully.

• Full Face Helmet – Snell, DOT, ECE or TUV approved with snap-close face shield and not more than ten (10) years old (five years is the recommended standard). Please ensure your helmet is a good fit, and is in good condition.  Modern Modular helmet is fine but only in the full face configuration.

• Gloves - Full coverage gloves - must fully cover and protect your wrists.

• Boots – Must fully cover the ankle and ankle cuffs.  Laces will have to be taped (we recommend hockey tape for this).

• Jacket & Pants – Good quality motorcycle specific leathers or heavy textile motorcycle specific gear (with armour and back protection) is required.  e.g. Joe Rocket, FirstGear, Tourmaster, BMW, Touratech, Rukka, Olympia, Held, Aerostitch, Rev'It, etc.

When on Track - Empty and ZIP-UP YOUR POCKETS. Other than vents that you wish to remain open, all gear worn must always be fully zipped and closed on the track.

Motorcycle Rain gear over your riding suit is acceptable if it rains.

Acceptable – heavy vented items (with armour) such as BMW Airflow, perforated leather, Joe Rocket Phoenix, First Gear Mesh-Tex, BMW Wind Machine, Rev’It, etc.  Motorcycle specific heavy grade denim jeans are acceptable.  However they must have knee and hip armour (min CE level 1)

Street jeans are not acceptable.  If in doubt, contact us in advance or bring more than one option.  You will not be permitted on track with sub-standard gear.
